Passing

A child played while grandma watched.
He never saw grandma there.
A child played till someone was missed.
He turned to see grandma died.

A child played holding grandpa’s hand.
He never saw grandpa cared.
A child played as the telephone rang.
He turned to hear grandpa died.

A child played growing up with dad.
He never wanted for dad’s love.
A child looked for dad to play.
He turned when the doctor said dad died.

A grown up child plays life’s game.
He never forgot those now gone.
A grown up child turns his face away.
He turned to hide he cried.
