Days Without End

Crying starts before the sun comes up,
Lasts all day till the moon turns dark,
Then starts all over again.
The pain in my heart grows worse each day,
And the more it hurts the less I pray,
Nothing can help me, not now.

Freedom,
Yeah freedom.
That’s what they call it anyway.
All I know is I have it each day,
Whether I want it or not, it’s the price I pay.
Living without you.

Before I was a happy boy,
Played in the sun and worked all day,
But that was then and now is now.
You can’t go back,
No matter how hard you try,
Life just isn’t fair that way.

Freedom,
Yeah freedom.
Why did it end this way?
We tried so hard to make it work,
Worked through the day then we made love,
Together through the night.

Love was mine in the early morn,
Lasted all day till the kids were warm,
Sleeping cozy in their beds.
Then it was us, just us two,
Both of us still with our love,
I thought it would last until I died.

Freedom,
Yeah freedom.
I can’t give up, I must go on,
Even on days when the sun won’t dawn, life goes on somehow.
I miss you baby, I want you to know
I still love you deep inside.
