Roads Taken

Where do we go? We know not where.
Or what to do along the way.
We search for meaning, our heart laid bare.
Why did God make it so?

There's only one chance for all we do.
We can not retrace our steps.
Along the way we chose someone else too.
So loneliness is kept away.

Many have gone their path all alone.
They must be stronger than I.
Emptiness turns the heart to stone.
My life I long to share.

So take a friend, or better a mate.
Life will be better then.
Through the years is a loving state.
In your heart you have a friend.

When life's road back is longer than forward,
You'll have someone to share the world.
A loving face you can look toward.
Loneliness fades away.

All the chores God gives us to do,
Our choices make us ourselves.
It's only love from me to you,
That is the answer to my prayers.
