Before Now
Footsteps
like drums echo down halls.
Empty
mind knows not silent footfalls.
Chair
springs squeak in a painful scream.
Body
and soul form a solitary team.
Heartbeats
roll thunder in hollow ears.
Drowns
out the senses, dampens fears.
Searing
breath burns naked skin,
Hell's
revenge for evil and sin.
Eyes
all seeing with no sight to behold.
Merely
existing, too jaded, too cold.
Fingers
reaching, needing a touch.
Just
not there, what's desired so much.
Nostrils
flair adsorbing each scent.
Smell
who's there, who came, who went.
Seek
the music, so loud and strong.
Stop
all senses, so nothing feels wrong.
Become
the vibrations both natural and symphonic.
Take
the music like a drug addict's tonic.
Sound
blasts attack till all senses are blocked.
Only
then can solitude be unlocked.
